Another gallery of captures from Blu-ray discs, strictly for entertainment purposes. Please only look at these caps as a very vague indication of what the actual image quality is, which obviously will look a lot better on your calibrated 1080p TV set/monitor/display. HD screencaps look quite different from site to site, monitor to monitor; differences in color, contrast, darkness levels always vary. Nor is this a review site, simply because I'm pretty bad at spotting meddling, or at least the different versions of this (EE, DNR, grain removal -- there's a ton of grain removal processes, blocking, halos, mosquio noise, ringing, posterization, banding, jaggies, etc.) All that being said: enjoy, hopefully this site will offer a look at some titles not found elsewhere. Some of these images will have spoilers and R-rated content. Updates will be weekly -- if possible.

What's your opinion of the picture quality?
This was shot on an early build of the RED One (v7 or v8). They've made a lot of improvements, including significant PQ enhancements (v20) since then.
I'd say (only having seen your screenshots) that it looks pretty sharp and film like. That one cap has a lot of low light noise however.
Picture 12 looks mindblowing though! What the hell is going on in that scene?

"What's your opinion of the picture quality?"
Seeing it in motion, being an older build of RED or not, it may be the best usage of the camera I've seen thus far.

Which one? A number of these are "action" shots as directors N/T aren't known for their subtle camera work. I like caps 4, 9, 13 and 14 (to an extent). 3 has that look that made people weary of the RED camera from the first batch of releases...

Damn, that's a pic from my own camera, don't know how that ended up there. ;) No, it's a crazy futuristic club where good times are clearly being had.

It looks sharp all right. "Film like" is the last thing I'd describe it as - and I suspect it was never meant to be.

The camera seems well matched to the content.

Allow me to clarify my statements. When I say it looks film like, I mean it doesn't have that obvious video look to it. You can pin point DV/HDV content a mile away, so to speak. The picture holds up well to grade curves.
